Psychotherapy gives you the opportunity to explore your past experiences, how they have shaped your life so far and how they influence your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I recognise the lasting impact of trauma, so I listen with warm empathy and compassion, giving you the time and space to explore your experiences and emotions.
Through psychotherapy, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the issues that you are facing. It will help you heal past trauma and bring any unconscious feelings you have to the fore so you can find ways to change the way you think and behave.
As your psychotherapist, I am not here to fix you. I am here to offer you a fresh perspective to the challenges you are facing so you become more self-aware and find your own answers from within. I take the time to create a strong working relationship with you, so you feel comfortable and confident in sharing your personal experiences so that you can work on ways to move forward in your life.
An integrative approach to psychotherapy just means that I will draw on a range of different approaches to help you gain a fresh perspective on your struggles. Everyone is unique and everyone’s experiences are personal to them, so by drawing on a range of approaches, I can tailor your therapy to you. I can draw upon psychodynamics, CBT, motivational interviewing, or dialectical behaviour therapy to help you work through your problems, reach your goals and achieve your full potential.

I have 17 years of experience in outpatient, in-patient and community services, as a qualified psychotherapist and CBT Certified therapist. Throughout my career, I have worked with numerous groups, including child and adolescent services and patients within a forensic setting, in both one to one and group settings.
I also currently work with patients who present with ADHD/ADD and neurodiverse diagnoses. From 2005, I worked for Kenward Trust, providing support for those in group and day programmes struggling with addiction.
During my masters, I worked for a private mental health treatment centre, providing therapy for patients seeking treatment for compulsive behaviours. In 2010, I joined the Her Centre, working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Having completed post-graduate studies from the University College London in IAPT Therapy, I worked for three years in child and adolescent services (CAMHS) in East Surrey. As a result, I am able to treat both NHS child, adolescent and adult patients for OCD/BDD, complex post-traumatic stress and borderline personality disorders. I am currently employed by Nightingale Hospital as a CBT therapist and psychotherapist. I have also worked in the Nightingale Hospital eating disorders unit, providing CBT-E for patients with anorexia nervosa.
The first session that we have together will include an initial consultation. This enables me to find out as much as I can about you, your background and the challenges you are facing so I can tailor future sessions to your needs. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about psychotherapy and what it entails so you feel comfortable and confident working together. This initial session usually takes about 1hr 10 minutes and after that, all sessions are 50 minutes long.
As an integrative therapist who offers Psychotherapy and CBT in London and online I draw upon a range of approaches, tailored to your specific needs. So you feel more informed about the process, below is a quick description of the main approaches I use in psychotherapy sessions.
Solution Focused Therapy, as the name suggested, is goal oriented, short term therapy focused on a specific issue that you are facing, rather than just exploring your thoughts and feelings. This therapeutic approach helps you change by creating solutions rather than exploring problems. We will work on what you can do in the future to overcome specific challenges, coming up with ways to achieve and sustain your desired behavioural change.
DBT is based upon CBT but it is useful for people who are struggling with intense emotions. Like CBT, it helps you change the ways that your thing and behave but it also focuses on accepting who you are at the same time. DBT group therapy helps you understand that accepting yourself and trying to change may seem contradictory, but it is possible to achieve both. There are also practical strategies for you to work on in between session to help you progress towards achieving your goals.
CBT is a solution based talking therapy to focuses on your current behaviours and emotions, helping you find practical strategies you can use to break a negative pattern of behaviour and thoughts. Through CBT, you will break your issue down into smaller parts and use a range of techniques to help you change certain thoughts or behaviours. Between each session, there will be techniques you can work on so you can create positive changes and achieve your goals.
CPT – E or Enhanced CBT is a highly structured form of CBT is used to treat all forms of eating disorders in adults and young people, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. It is a highly individualised program, usually taking about 20 – 40 weeks, depending on the severity of your condition, and going through four stages to enable you to take control of your eating disorder and the thoughts and emotions associated with it. After our initial consultation, I devise an individual map of therapy, so you we can understand your eating disorder and help you move towards a healthier future. It is also particularly effective for people with complex post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder and OCD.
